Finding a fresh new theme for your bestie’s bridal shower can be a challenge. We love this 1920’s theme submitted by one of our fans at Bright & Blue Designs!
To channel the Great Gatsby and pull off this theme, follow a few simple steps:
1. Make Guests Aware of the Bridal Shower Theme in Advance
Sending out fun and informative invitations like the ones shown here is a great way to give guests a heads up. Be sure to indicate whether they are expected to arrive in costume or bring a gift that corresponds with the theme.
2. Plan a Roaring Twenties Themed Menu
Set up a cocktail bar or choose a signature cocktail from the Prohibition Era. We recommend the traditional French 75, made from gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and bubbly champagne. It’s perfect for toasting the bride-to-be! For more delicious 1920’s cocktail ideas, check out this great list.
For food, prepare tasty dishes from the 1920’s. Caesar Salad, Deviled Eggs, and Crab Stuffed Mushrooms with Parmesan Cheese were all popular party dishes from the era. We can’t get enough of these glamorous designs from Cake Central that showcase art deco designs from the time period.
3. Provide 1920’s Themed Props for Guests
To get everyone in the Roaring Twenties party mood, hand out some fun themed props! Feather boas or fans as shown in the picture below are both great choices. Bright lipsticks make great gifts to hand out, and guests can then copy the Flapper makeup style.
